2014: The Year of Automation and The Cloud

Building automation for energy efficiency and the emergence of more zero-net-energy buildings will dominate green building innovation in the coming year, predicts Jerry Yudelson, a LEED fellow and sustainability expert. New cloud-based technologies will also boost innovation and savings, says Yudelson.

Among Yudelson’s top trends for green buildings in 2014 are healthier building products, product disclosure declarations and a continued effort to green existing buildings as opposed to new building design and construction.
